Indianapolis Names Head Coach for First Pro Volleyball Fed Season

The second season of Pro Volleyball Federation action will include three expansion teams. One of them, the Indianapolis Ignite, now have a head coach.

The Ignite named Division-II college assistant George Padjen as their inaugural head coach on Wednesday.

Padjen spent 21 seasons on the sidelines for the Concordia University St. Paul (MN) Cardinals. That program won nine NCAA Div-II titles in women’s volleyball with Padjen serving under Brady Starkey. This will be Padjen’s first head coaching job at the professional or collegiate level.

The Ignite will join Dallas and Kansas City as second-year expansion teams in the PVF, bringing the league to 10 teams. Last season, the Omaha Supernovas won the first-ever PVF title, and a $1 million team prize.

Padjen was assistant volleyball coach at St. Scholastica in Duluth from 1999 to 2002. He attended the the University of Minnesota, Duluth.
