VIDEO: Dimitrova Discusses Retirement from Pro Volleyball

Most people don’t retire before the age of 40. But Emiliya Dimitrova isn’t most people. The Grand Rapids Rise opposite hitter is one of the best women’s professional volleyball players in the world. This Sunday, she will play her final home match when the Rise end their regular season at home.

Wood-TV 8 interviewed Dimitrova to find out her plans for retirement from professional volleyball as a player.

This season is Dimitrova’s 17th as a professional. She’s provided leadership and great play for the Rise in the first season of the Pro Volleyball Federation. Dimitrova has 362 kills in 21 matches, with 30 blocks and 12 aces for 404 points, which ranks second on the team.
