Vegas Eliminated with Loss to Omaha

The Omaha Supernovas (15-7) continue to roll their way to the PVF Championship playoffs, scoring a 3-0 straight-set victory over the Vegas Thrill on the road on Monday.

With their loss, Vegas (8-15) has been eliminated from postseason contention. The Thrill were dominated in sets one and three, and suffered their seventh defeat in straight sets this season, the most in the PVF.

Omaha is locked into the No. 2 seed for the inaugural Pro Volleyball Federation Championship tournament, which begins with semi-finals on May 15. The PVF Championship will be held in Omaha at CHI Health Center.

Omaha won 25-16, 25-23, and 25-16. The Supernovas now have a .611 win percentage in sets this season (55-35). Only the No. 1 seed Atlanta Vibe have more set wins and a higher set winning percentage.

Hristina Vuchkova recorded four blocks for Omaha, and setter Natalia Valentin-Anderson had 31 assists and 15 digs. Both Bethania De La Cruz and Tori Dixon had aces for the Supernovas.

With 15 losses, Vegas is now in danger of finishing in last place in the seven-team league. They are tied for most losses currently with Orlando. Those two teams meet in their final match later this week.
