Thrill Win 5-Setter, Move Out of Cellar

Vegas Thrill vs Orlando Valkyries

The Vegas Thrill had made last place their home for several weeks, and apparently had enough of the view. On Wednesday, Vegas won a 3-2 match against the Orlando Valkyries to improve their record to 8-15, and bounce into sixth place.

Vegas won sets four and five, relying on strong front row play to defeat Orlando for the first time this season. The match went 24-26, 25-15, 22-25, 25-21, 15-12 in favor of the Thrill.

The Valkyries have lost seven straight matches, with a 9-21 record in sets over that span. The losing skid has essentially plummeted Orlando out of playoff contention, though they have not been officially eliminated from the PVF Championships.

Two players, Hannah Maddux and Khat Bell, recorded 17 kills on Wednesday night. Maddux hit 40%, while teammate Berkeley Oblad hit 44% on 14-for-32.

These teams will meet in the final match of the season, in what will likely determine which of them finishes last in the inaugural season of the Pro Volleyball Federation.
