The Pro Volleyball Federation will be at least 16% better in the 2025 season. That’s if you measure by length of schedule.
The league announced it will increase the regular season from 24 matches to 28 for season two of the PVF. Each of the eight teams will play 14 matches at home and on the road. Last season, the PVF played a 24-match season in its inaugural campaign.
“Our leadership and staff analyzed several schedule models to determine what would be the best for our teams, their players and our great fans,” said PVF Chief Executive Office Jen Spicher in a press release from the league. “It was determined a full round-robin schedule was the best fit. It allows us to showcase a professional league in a format that is familiar to the sports fans throughout the United States.”
With eight teams, a 28-match schedule allows each team to play the others four times, twice at home, and twice on the road.
The league will stick with a single match postseason, with two semi-finals preceding the championship match. Last season, the Omaha Supernovas won the PVF Championship over the Grand Rapids Rise.
The Indy Ignite, representing Indianapolis, join the PVF for the 2025 season, which will start early next year. Last season, games were played from January through May.
The PVF says it will release the 2025 regular season schedule “in the coming months.”
